Summary of the Interview
At some point during the interview, I talked with a nurse I worked with at Riverside Care Sanatorium, a middle-sized healthcare institution with acute and long-term care services. The institution struggled with these matters, so it first tried implementing EHRs and subsequent’ communication protocol’ training workshops. Those attempts had minimal impact because there was no profound commitment to follow-up disengagement or compliance checking.
The interviewee expressed that instead of waiting for Rivers Care Health Center to step forward and start valuing meaningful collaboration, many attempt to control stressful situations that cluster around applying those values into practice. Managers facilitate formal organizational interactions; however, their multi-disciplinarity gets somewhat lost between the promise of meetings and their actual routines (Henson et al., 2020).
