NURS FPX 6025 Assessment 2 Practicum and Experience Reflection

Practicum and Experience Reflection

In NURS FPX 6025 Assessment 2 a crucial component of many degree programs in the healthcare industry is the practicum. It enables students to obtain practical experience in their field of study while working under the supervision and guidance of experienced healthcare professionals. However, the format of the  NURS FPX 6025 Assessment 2 practicum might change based on the specifics of the course. Nevertheless, there will usually be a specific amount of time that students must spend in a healthcare delivery context. A hospital, clinic, or community health center may be in this environment (Cain et al., 2019). During this year, students must collaborate closely with healthcare experts to learn the fundamentals of patient care and offer treatment to patients to obtain practical experience in their chosen sector.

In this reflection, I will cover my practicum experience at a dialysis facility, including the contextual backdrop, obstacles, opportunities, skills learned and successes, and future directions. The dialysis facility provided a rich learning environment where knowledge about the challenges of managing renal health could be acquired (Jones 2022). The challenges I had throughout my  NURS FPX 6025 Assessment 2 practicum served as a springboard for my development, and I was able to learn critical skills in patient care and therapy. They give their expertise in the management of renal health, which gives valuable ideas on best practices and evidence-based care (Garcia & Martinez, 2019). Furthermore, the preceptor supports me to become a leader by guiding the treatment sessions and organizing patient services. This has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to mentor and supervise other staff members, thereby ensuring high-quality care delivery as well as a positive learning environment within the dialysis center.

Preceptor Role as a Mentor and Supervisor

A very important role that a preceptor plays is to facilitate my being a mentor and site supervisor. Firstly, they ensure I receive extensive orientation and training, which helps me become familiar with the operations, protocols, and equipment of the center (Johnson et al., 2020). This way, I am well-equipped to effectively perform my duties. Throughout my practicum, I can find the preceptor guiding me through complicated patient cases and treatment procedures (Smith & Brown, 2021). They know renal health management from which they offer insights on best practices and evidence-based care approaches. In addition to this, I am encouraged by the preceptor to take up leadership roles such as supervising therapy sessions or coordinating patient care activities (Garcia & Martinez, 2019). By mentoring me in this way, though, I become knowledgeable enough to confidently train other workers while also overseeing their work. Such efforts make it possible for quality services to be delivered thus creating a good learning environment at the dialysis center.

Goals and Objectives of NURS FPX 6025 Assessment 2 Practicum Experience

It is important to ensure that professional goals at the dialysis center are met to provide students with a clear understanding of kidney management and delivery of dialysis treatment. While the aim is to improve the ability in mechanical study, critical evaluation, and immune evaluation, the main goal is to achieve good results in diabetes treatment and patient care (Smith and Brown, 2021). The second goal is to improve understanding of the physiology behind kidney failure and dialysis as treatment. The aim is to study kidney structure, biochemical processes, and various treatments (Johnson et al., 2020). The third aim focuses on patient connections, interdisciplinary teamwork, and professionalism in stressful situations (Lee and Johnson, 2022). The fourth goal is to manage and operate dialysis centers, with an emphasis on planning, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives (Clark et al., 2020). To enhance patient care and results, the fifth and final aim is reviewing, learning, taking part in research initiatives, and putting best practices and evidence-based procedures into practice (Wilson and Taylor, 2019). All of these aims and objectives work together to give students an internship experience that equips them with the information, skills, and talents needed to be successful in the field of diabetes care.

Completion of Hours for NURS FPX 6025 Assessment 2

When documenting the time it takes to complete dialysis work in the office, an overall report showing the time and nature of the work is important. During the tenure, many activities are carried out, including training and workshops to familiarize yourself with the Center’s policies and procedures. This is followed by observation to gain a deeper understanding of the dialysis process, hands-on work to assist with setting up and operating the machine, and includes patient assessment and care. Additionally, participation in group discussions promotes understanding and cooperation in all aspects of patient care. Communication skills are acquired by interacting with patients and their families, following clearly defined rules in the interview. Participation in professional development and research activities further promotes learning and enables the use of evidence-based practices. The record reflects the total number of hours completed to complete the internship requirements defined by the dialysis center.
