Support
As they consider specific supports for their time management chart, it’s fitting to recognize the support of other persons and things to maintain their wellness goals alive and on track. Encouragement and concrete assistance to manage the situation of private and working life are provided by family, friends, and professional advisors. For example, considering that one is faced with a supervisor who appreciates such a situation as having to work and study at the same time, the chances of being stressed are narrowed down (Kordsmeyer et al., 2021). Furthermore, involvement in peer support groups or wellness groups (those with similar experiences) may also give additional motivation and support to the value of a strong support system in terms of attaining personal and professional goals.
Personal Responsibility
Methods of planning and promoting personal productivity and health should be taken into account when determining who is held accountable for work. This means that there is a need to set achievable objectives, have priority, and be in harmony with the value system as well as the overall vision (Fang et al., 2020). Maintaining discipline practices, like scheduling and assigning time for self-care tasks, makes sure the person is on track to complete all personal-related tasks. It should be emphasized that when they reflect on themselves and then change the way they are doing something, they will be able to maximize the amount of time they are able to commit and achieve a good work-life balance.
Success Plans
They are important in formulating goals and objectives that are both short-term and long-term. These can be done through goal setting (specific and realistic goals), goal monitoring, and goal modification (where appropriate). A specific task to complete in the given time, for example, a SMART goal, can help develop a good organization timetable that would improve health performance, for instance (Weintraub et al., 2021). These plans should be reviewed regularly and updated to ensure progress and to plan for change as required. In focusing on goal setting, self-organizing support systems, and self-asserting personal accountability, an individual can manage time in a balanced fashion, which is conducive to success without sacrificing mental and physical health.
Use the table below to develop at least one SMART goal for each dimension of health.
Health Dimension | SMART Goal |
Nutrition | By the end of the next 30 days, I will have increased fruits and veggies by 1 per day, vegetables at lunch time, and fruit at dinner time for a total of almost 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. |
Physical Activity | I will attempt to exercise at least 30 minutes per day of moderate intensity walking and/or cycling at least 5 times per week for the following 12 weeks and will use a fitness app to track my activity. |
Stress Management | Over the next 8 weeks, I will spend 10 minutes each morning, 5 days a week, practicing mindfulness meditation using a guided meditation application to reduce stress throughout the day. |
Restorative Sleep | For proper sleep at night, I shall ensure that I have a sleeping pattern where I go to bed at 10 pm and get up at 6 am for the next 6 weeks, and avoid activities that lead to poor sleep, such as watching electronic gadgets at night. |
Social Connections | I will ensure that I make a plan for socializing at least once a week for the next three months with a friend or family member using a phone call, virtual meeting or visiting them in person to allow for some social interaction. |
Avoidance of Risky Substances | I will eliminate the use of alcohol and other substances harmful to the body by committing not to take any alcohol or other dangerous substances for the next two months, with checks every week to assess the potential effects on my body. |
