- Identifying the Problem and Introducing the Solution
The gap in patient care that my proposed healthcare product will solve is that the patient centered medication management system needs to be streamlined. Medication errors in the US result in more than 7,000 avoidable deaths and billions of inefficiencies and fines to healthcare organizations, every year. My solution is the “MediSure Platform” which consists of a computerized tool that can be called an all-in-one medication reconciliation, potential drug interaction warning and patient education modules (Awad et al., 2021). This is an easy to use platform intended to support the clinician and the patient, and to enhance safety, reduce readmission rates and ensure compliance with regulation standards. When such essential aspects are included, then the decision-makers will realize that the product is not merely a solution to an urgent problem but also a way of achieving better results.
- Financial and Operational Impacts
On the same level is the financial gain of MediSure Platform. A cost benefit analysis is estimated to save an average hospital up to two million a year by decreasing adverse drug events and streamlining workflow through the system. Its scalability is also an attribute that prevents budgetary effects by allowing it to be implemented in phases in terms of organizational resources. It is expected that in two years the ROI of the platform will be 4:1, due to the decrease in liability risks and administrative loads owing to fewer errors (Awad et al., 2021). Moreover, it minimizes the number of operational discontinuities and training expenses involved to align with the existing Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Resting on these financial and operational highlights, MediSure is an investment worth considering among stakeholders eager to make their decision based on the concept of safety and efficiency.
- Strategic Advantages and Long-Term Value
The overall SWOT analysis of the MediSure Platform shows that it has strong aspects in enhancing patient safety, compliance, the weakness in the potential resistance to initial adoption, the opportunity to interoperate with more advanced systems, and threats posed by rival technologies or budgetary restrictions (Hole et al., 2021). The automated features of the system address the system weaknesses of manual documentation errors and take advantage of the interoperability with more advanced EHRs. Threats such as resistance to adoption are overcome by user friendly design and strong support training. MediSure Platform puts long term giving organization in a position to address the newly introduced regulatory requirements and establish themselves as a leader in the realm of Patient Safety (Hole et al., 2021). With its focus on its strategic benefits and long-term worth, the platform attracts decision-makers who seek long-term solutions to the problems of an ever more competitive healthcare environment.
