    The professional identity of a nurse is determined by the ethical standards, core values, and patient-centered care. These are values that illuminate nurses to provide quality, care-giving, and non-discriminatory healthcare. Reflective practice is also essential to advanced nursing practice since it assists in making ethical decisions, developing leadership, and facilitating successful development as a learner (Jenkin and Smythe, 2024).

    To improve the results of the practice, nurses reconsider their words, values, and roles. The present paper will outline a reflection of professional nursing practice, values, ethical issues, and experiences in the work with mentorship, peer review, and evaluation in the healthcare team.

    Critique of Personal and Professional Practices in the Context of Nursing’s Core Values

    Through my personal and professional nursing practices, I firmly believe in good ethical decision-making, patient advocacy, and accountability. I am a supporter of patient safety and maintain confidentiality. The other philosophical concept that I apply in clinical decision making is ethical principles. However, I must admit that I need to be more aggressive in complex situations where ethical problem exists or at the workplace when I can experience pressure.

    The professional nursing standards are also adhered to in my practice as I give attention to patient-centered care, collaboration, and evidence-based practice. My values have been put to the test, being time-constrained and differing at times. These instances required critical thinking and consultations with other workers so that one could get some ethical responses. Reflection practice has helped to improve self-awareness and perpetuate professional growth that eventually will result in improvement of the quality of care provided.

    As a nurse, I have demonstrated core values by making repetitive and conscious decisions that culminated in ethical and patient-centered care in my nursing practice. The other aspect of integrity is being honest, well-documented, and responsible for issues and errors of the clinic.     In nursing, diversity, equity, and inclusion mean the celebration of diversity and the treatment of patients equally. They also have a positive and safe working environment that is respectful. I am an equity man as I enhance equal access to healthcare institutions.

    I explain social determinants that affect the health outcomes. I strive to reduce clinical decision bias. I have a sensitive and responsive language style. My style depends on the needs of individuals. I am also inclusive because I offer culturally sensitive care. I also encourage cooperation, respect, and workplace friendship. This kind of initiatives improves patient care, build trust, and create a good working culture.

    My personal values and professional identity are in tune with professional nursing organizations such as the American Nurses Association and nursing associations that are specialty-based. These bodies exhibit ethical practice by ensuring that there is a set of pre-existing codes of ethics, evidence-based standards, and accountability in the nursing practice. My practice has involved caring ethically in aspects involving my patients, such as maintaining privacy, providing accurate information, and making patient safety a factor in every clinical decision.

    Ethical behavior in my interprofessional collaboration is reflected in such points as respectful communication, joint decision-making, and the professional reaction to concerns that can facilitate the most successful results. Positive examples set, the maintenance of co-workers, and the representation of ethical standards are some of the examples of ethical leadership that are portrayed in both formal and informal leadership (Mostafa et al., 2020). Ethical behavior creates a relationship of trust among the members of the team and enhances cooperation, thereby raising patient safety because of the culture of responsibility and honesty.

    The ethical concerns that are typical of a healthcare facility include the violation of confidentiality, unsafe practice, inadequate informed consent, and professional inter-team communication. The mechanisms to employ to address unethical behaviors in the event of their observation are to speak with concerns about the available reporting systems, seek counsel on the institutional policies, and employ professional codes of ethics to take action (Cicero, 2021).

    Respectful and professional communication in the sphere of nursing is bound to increase and allow nurses to communicate their issues without exacerbating the conflict, and maintain cooperation. Nurses play a significant role in ensuring ethical practices through patient safety, providing ethical role models, and ensuring accountability to others and to themselves. Such practices assist in protecting the patients and building confidence in the healthcare system, as well as upholding the honesty and integrity of the nursing profession.

    There was also an experienced nurse leader who was guiding me through my initial practice, and this factor also led to my development and my sense of responsibility as a nurse. The professional development facilitated the sense of responsibility and desire to learn in the course of life. These actions contributed not only to the improvement of individual performance but also to interaction within the team, communication, and the quality of care in the healthcare setting.

    Two of the popular strategies in peer review used in nursing practice include structured performance reviews and collaborative peer review sessions.
