Protecting Human Research Participants

That is why there were numerous ethical violations in these trials: they were risking human lives. The Nuremberg trials after the Second World War are the second historical event that proves that human beings should be protected. An exploration of the impact of prison settings on prisoners was undertaken at Stanford University in 1971 by Philip Zimbardo through the study known as the Stanford Prison Experiment.
